Superstition forbids whistling in the hops field for fear of summoning the hop devil - a mischievous spirit who can protect the crop or incur a devastating storm on the eve of harvest. Hops farmers traditionally spilled the first pour of beer upon the soil in sacrifice for a good harvest. BREWER'S NOTES
This West Coast IPA bursts with vibrant citrus and resinous pine. Bright notes of grapefruit and orange peel layer over a crisp malt backbone that offers just a touch of sweetness for balance. Amarillo, Simcoe and Columbus hops bring earthy spice and ripe fruit character, while a firm, pithy bitterness carries through to a dry finish.
